Introduction

As a student in computer science at UTBM (University of Technology of Belfort-Montbรฉliard), I had, during my studies, to carry out a 6-month internship in a professional environment. This internship as an assistant engineer called ST40 took place in the second year of the engineering cycle.

Having taken Human-Machine Interface courses during my first year at UTBM and having liked this field, I wanted to go to an internship where I could use and develop these skills.

I chose to work for AiBACUS: a startup project led by Mr. Gilles Tonnelier and supported by DECA-BFC, in Besanรงon. I was particularly interested in the purpose of this internship because it consisted in creating a graphical interface with tools that I have already had the opportunity to use at the UTBM such as the Python programming language or the Qt framework. Moreover, the internship required the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a field in which I wanted to specialize. Because of these reasons, this internship was a perfect opportunity for me to use and expand my knowledge in user interface and AI, two fields in which I have a lot of interest.

Key points

As a part of this internship is confidential, I cannot go into detail about the work done but here are key elements I developed:

Conclusion

To conclude, this internship was a very enriching experience that brought me a lot in terms of knowledge in software development, realization of graphical interfaces, artificial intelligence, data processing/visualization, and much more. In addition to technical knowledge, having developed the software mainly alone allowed me to gain autonomy. Finally, since I wanted to specialize in artificial intelligence, this internship confirmed my will to continue in that direction.
